BACKGROUND:
Marjolene was born in Nilfgaard, presumably somewhere near the City of Golden Towers, to the influential de Montholons. She came into her magic at a young age, proving to be something of a progidy, and quickly gained favour in the right places. Marjolene's glory days ended abruptly when the de Montholon's where disgraced and had their holdings ceased.
She uprooted her life and moved North with a substantial ammount of the family gold, seeking her fortune there. After a few years in Novigrad she found that she was an expecting mother. Not one to be held back by something so trivial, she continously left her son alone or in the care of others until she could send him off to be schooled elsewhere. Their contact these days is infrequent, to say the least.
